We have spacious and light-filled, 12" X 12" stalls in our lower barn. Horses are fed high-quality mountain meadow hay or alfalfa three times per day, stalls are cleaned and shavings refreshed daily. Group turnout is included for horses without rear shoes; individual turnout is available.
Our spacious covered arena is groomed daily and the natural footing is maintained frequently to provide the safest and most comfortable ride possible. The arena is protected from the elements and is fully lighted.
Individual and some double and triple paddocks are available on both the west and east sides of the ranch. East side paddocks are larger and flatter with shelters of varying size. West side paddocks are usually smaller and may be on a slope; all have 12' X12" shelters.
Our dressage arena is the standard 20 X 60 meters, bordered by rails and appropriately lettered. The footing is a custom mix of sand engineered to cushion hooves and retain water.
The round pen was rebuilt and expanded to 70 ft in diameter in 2017. The walls are panelled to protect horses. The round pen is the only place on the ranch where horses can be trained "free", without bridle or harness.
We feed only high quality mountain meadow hay and alfalfa three times per day, which is much better for the horse's digestion. Most horse facilities only feed twice per day. We also offer graining services for horses that need additional or supplemental nutrition.
Ciara West Equestrian currently has four trainers in residence, each with their own specialization, methods and focus. Boarders are encouraged to contact any trainer in their discipline to discuss programs and determine compatibility. Trainer contact information can be found here:
